Shimoni Reef: Private, relaxed and very comfortable.

Some guests come to visit the fantastic marine reserves and islands, dive and snorkel, some to sport fish, others to just relax in a totally private atmosphere with ocean views of islands and the forests nearby. Many just pass the time spotting dolphins from the balcony , monkeys in the trees, birds all around, and a splendid fleet of dhows sailing past mornings and afternoons, with the wind in their sails .The local cuisine is famous for the fresh sea food available every day.

The cottages are white washed and thatch covered with a home feel inside .The balcony is perfect to sit and watch the Wasini channel as boats sail by whilst birds and monkeys compete for the tropical fruits on the tamarind and boabab trees in the garden around the cottages.

All cottages have a double bed, and a single bed,2 couches , fans and en suite bathroom facilities.

Sitting on the dining terrace at Shimoni Reef before , during or after meal often involves some dolphin spotting , but always some bird spotting. Regular sightings are Brown Headed Parrots, Sunbirds, Green Pigeons, Bulbuls, Ibis , Fish Eagles- and the ever acrobatic black and white palm buzzard sweeping along the shore line .The endless back and forth of silent sailing dhows is fascinating in a world full of noisy engines and motor boats.
