Set in 3 acres of mature shaded gardens, overlooking the ocean, and facing wasini island, the 6 cottages and main house with its own loft /penthouse, provide a truly royal sense of privacy and facilities, to be enjoyed only by you, your family or friends, or invited guests.
Shimoni Reef facilities include:
6 Cottages each with 1 double bed, 1 single bed, 2 built in sofas, exterior verandah sitting area. All cottages sea facing. All beds with mosquito nets, fans, bathroom is in cool terrazzo, with shower,basin hot and cold water.
1 loft / penthouse room with A/C, double bed and bathroom with terrazzo and a shower. Very private large and discreet terrace, with stunning elevated views onto Tanzania mountains and Wasini island across the Wasini chanell.
All provided with towels, sheets , changed and cleaned as you require.(initially stocked with toilet paper on arrival)
Kitchen.
Gas/ electric cooker, fridges, freezer, microwave ,electric griddle, electric pizza oven, out door built in BBQ with independent washing up areas. All cooking utensils cutlery, crockery provided.
Relaxing and chilling areas.
The pool is ideal for sunning, relaxing on sunbeds, at the far end of the garden .You can swim day and night!
The main building has an indoor lounge with built in bar for you to stock and use as your private cellar. Lots of chairs to lounge around inside, and a pool room to play pool when you want. Outside is the main terrace overlooking the water, raised on a small cliff, with views to watch the fisherman coming and going, birds hunting fish, dolphins passing usually in the mornings and afternoons…dhows sailing in and out of shimoni .This is where most meals are taken, and the outdoor BBQ adjacent is the heart of the cooking experience that will make your time in shimoni a sea food gastronomic pleasure holiday. Our chef is on call all the time and you can try your hand at a dish whenever you want.
Catering and shopping.
If coming from Mombasa, either mombasa town or Diani, from Tanzania then in Tanga, all are on the way and ideal locations to initially stock up on preserved food and drinks. You will find locally vegetables, sodas and beers, and plenty of seafood… but for a good selection in a supermarket of spirits, wines, meat, spices etc…you need to cater .If you prefer to have this done for you , we can organize it as well with advance notice everything is possible.
